Planning and Zoning Commission / Local Planning Agency
Overview
The Planning and Zoning Commission/Local Planning Agency consists of five regular members and two alternates who are residents and registered voters; they are appointed by the Village Council for a term of three years. This commission acts as the local planning agency for the Village in accordance with Chapter 163, Florida Statutes. The Planning and Zoning Commission reviews and makes recommendations to the Village Council on all proposed comprehensive land use plan amendments, site plans, plats, special exceptions, applications for variance from the zoning regulations, and rezoning applications; reviews and makes recommendations to the Council on all land development regulations and all applications for annexation; and evaluates and makes recommendations to the Council on the Village Comprehensive Development Plan on a continuous basis.
