Art in Public Places

Open Call to Artists

Public Art

Through the inclusion of public art in the community, the Village of Royal Palm Beach strives to continue its mission in providing services and facilities that create an aesthetically pleasing, active, and connected community.

In the year 2018, the Village Council approved an art in public places ordinance with an overall vision to enhance the quality of the visual environment in the village. In keeping with this ordinance, the village will curate and facilitate new public art projects as well create initiatives for opportunities for the arts in our community.

This page will serve as a reference source for arts and culture in the Village.

Mission

  • To increase public access to art and the aesthetically designed environment, and to promote understanding and awareness of the visual arts in the public environment.
  • To contribute to the civic pride and economic development of the Village.
  • To enhance the climate for artistic creativity in the Village.
  • To enrich the public environment for both residents and visitors to the area through incorporation of the visual arts.

The Art in Public Places program is funded through a percent for art ordinance that collects one percent on development and redevelopment projects greater than $250,000 in the Village.
