Mission Statement

 

The Planning and Zoning Department is dedicated to fostering development that aligns with our Community’s High Standards as outlined in the Comprehensive Plan and Village Code. We provide expert guidance and support to the Village Council, appointed Boards and Commissions, city departments, and citizens. Through collaboration and responsiveness, we strive to enhance the quality of life for all citizens while preserving our community’s character and future growth.

 

Major Objectives

 

  • Provide accurate and responsive answers to inquiries from the general public regarding Property Development Regulations, Land Development Approvals, and Land Development Application and Review Procedures. 
  • Provide technical review of the various Development Applications.
  • Assist in the review of Building Permits.
  • Update the Comprehensive Plan through Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR) based amendments.
  • Maintain various maps pertaining to Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map, Zoning Maps, and Development Project Key map.
  • Develop a user friendly Land Development Manual
